FERD FOCUS ... Rio Ferdinand says Man Utd are not getting carried away with title race

RIO FERDINAND insists Manchester United are not getting ahead of themselves in their bid to retain the Premier League title.
The Red Devils head into the Easter programme with a five-point lead after beating Blackburn 2-0 on Monday where their celebrations seemed to be that of a team who had won the title.
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini claims if United beat QPR at Old Trafford on Sunday and his side fail to beat Arsenal hours later then the battle is over.
Ferdinand disagrees and says the fist-pumping at Ewood Park was nothing more than satisfaction of winning at a ground which has proved tricky for United in the past.
He said: “The significance of that reaction on Monday was blown out of all proportion.
“I have been at the club for 10 years and Blackburn has always been a hard place to go.
“We have had a lot of bad results there. A couple of years ago they stopped us from winning the league.
“We wanted to put that right and it was nice to get one back over them.”
He added: “The only thing on our minds is to win each game.
“We are not look beyond that. It is a cliche and it is boring. But that is the way it is. Black and white.
“You just have to keep ticking off the boxes.”
Nevertheless, Ferdinand can hardly deny United are in a good place, unlike their neighbours who have picked the worst possible time to experience their most disappointing sequence of results.
He said: “We are in the position we would like to be in at this stage of the season but it is not over.
