In demand: Stevanovic is being watched by a host of Premier League clubs
Manchester United are among the Premier League clubs watching Torino's attacking midfielder Alen Stevanovic.
The 21-year-old was once likened to Cristiano Ronaldo by Arsenal scouts when they watched him developing at Inter Milan.
However, he drifted out of contention and joined Torino. They sent him on loan to Toronto and he has returned to Italy this season in outstanding form.
Although born in Switzerland, he was raised by relations in Serbia and is expected to be called up to their national team soon.
Torino are willing to sell for around £6million and that has got United and their Premier League rivals, with all of the top six represented at recent games, ready to bid.
Meanwhile, United scout Martin Ferguson watched Rayo Vallecano right back Tito, 26, against Real Madrid on Sunday.

Netherlands playmaker Wesley Sneijder has suggested that he hopes to use Wednesday night's friendly against England to showcase his talents in the hope of securing a move away from Inter.
The Dutchman has struggled for both form and fitness this season and suffered the ignominy of being replaced at the interval during his club's 1-0 defeat at Napoli on Sunday.
Sneijder, speaking ahead of his country's eagerly-awaited outing at Wembley, refused to go so far as to declare his desire to leave San Siro but the trequartista, who was heavily linked with Manchester United last summer, strongly hinted that he is open to offers.
"I see the friendly with England as a great stage on which to show off," he is quoted as saying by Corriere dello Sport.
"This does not mean I want to get away from Inter, but certainly many clubs will be looking at tomorrow's meeting in London."
Sneijder's current struggles at Inter would appear to have a lot to do with coach Claudio Ranieri's inability to work out how best to deploy the Dutchman.
The Roman is rumoured to be on the verge of the sack after a run of five successive defeats in all competitions but Sneijder, in spite of his half-time withdrawal at the San Paolo, insisted that he does now want Ranieri fired.
"I'm not happy with that change [against Napoli] but I accept it," he claimed.
"The team is looking for the best ways to get out of this bad spell and the coach is also working hard. Hopefully, we can manage it."
Sneijder joined Inter from Real Madrid in 2009 and played a key role in the club's treble triumph the following year.

WORRIED ... Andre Villas-Boas has admitted his axe fears
By MARK IRWIN
Published: 25 minutes ago
ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS admits that he could now be sacked by Roman Abramovich.
Chelsea's boss no longer knows if the club's billionaire owner backs him.
And he feels he could be booted out just like predecessor Carlo Ancelotti.
The Portuguese chief, who previously has always claimed Abramovich's full support, said: "We are now in the exact same moment as last year. It is an exact copy.
"I think that I have felt the confidence from Abramovich. But the pattern of behaviour of the owner has led to a downfall of coaches in similar situations or even 'better' situations.
"What will be the reaction? It will be one of the two — a continuation of the project and full support or just the cultural pattern that has happened before. We don't know."
AVB, 34, has come under increasing pressure recently after poor results and bust-ups with senior players such as Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole.
Both England stars started on the bench for the recent Champions League defeat at Napoli.
And Lampard has stated his relationship with AVB is 'not ideal'.
AVB has only a 17 per cent win rate from his last six games, while Ancelotti's was 50 per cent in the run-up to his exit last May.
But if he survives at Stamford Bridge, Villas-Boas means to build his side his way and not splash a fortune like Roberto Mancini has done at Manchester City.
He declared: "I refuse to build a team like Manchester City. I don't like the standards of their football. City is an Italian team and they follow Italian standards.
"As for Frank Lampard, he is not a regular because of team strategy. But he is one of the best in the world."
AVB sees his next player target as Hulk from his former club Porto.
He revealed: "I see room for an explosive player on the wing, someone who is strong in one-on-one situations. Hulk fits that profile."
He also likes Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho and wing-back Alvaro Pereira.

Manchester United face up to losing contract rebel Pogba
By Ian Ladyman

On the way out? United are set to lose Pogba
Manchester United's attempts to keep teenage prodigy Paul Pogba have hit crisis point.
United have been in talks for weeks with the 18-year-old French midfielder about a new contract.
But Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, admitted the teenager's future at Old Trafford was now 'precarious' after he was told to train alone after being left out of the squad for the second leg of the Europa League tie against Ajax.
Raiola and United refused to confirm or deny that Pogba, out of contract in the summer, was excluded from first-team training last Friday.
'It is a precarious situation. It is difficult,' Raiola said. 'United want him. It is up to the boy to make some decisions.'

Today Mail '; Rooney bring on the fight with city
Rooney: I'm hitting peak form and will fire United past City to 20th title
By Sportsmail Reporter
Last updated at 12:01 PM on 27th February 2012
Wayne Rooney hopes his stunning form in front of goal this season can continue in the run-in and fire Manchester United to their 20th top flight title.
Rooney is currently sidelined with a throat infection, missed United's dramatic 2-1 victory over Norwich and will sit out the England friendly with Holland.
But when he returns he has no doubt that his form this term is what the Old Trafford club need to see off the challenge from fierce rivals City.
Wayne's world: Rooney wants to fire United to yet another Premier League crown
Rooney told FIFA.com: 'We're confident that we can push on now, and start being a bit more consistent towards the end of the season.
'Personally, it's been one of my best goal-scoring seasons. I've scored 19 so far, and hopefully I can kick on and score a lot more towards the end of the season.
'We are still in a great position in the league, we're only a couple of points behind and a lot of games to go. We're confident that we can push on now.
'Going out of the Champions League was obviously a big disappointment for us, but we are still in a great position in the league, we’re only a couple of points behind and a lot of games to go.
He added: 'We want to retain the Premier League and do well in the Europa League. These are the two competitions we are left in and we want to do well, go far and hopefully win them.'
United currently occupy second place in the Premier League, two points behind City with 12 games remaining.
And Rooney realises that if they can claw back past Roberto Mancini’s side, they will owe a great deal to manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
European adventure: Rooney says the club are focused on winning the Europa League title this season
Rooney said: 'He's very experienced and a great manager. He knows which players he can speak to and which players he can shout at, if he needs to.
'He knows how the players react and how to get the best out of them. I think that's important especially in this day and age.
'His mentality for the game, his commitment and desire are obviously things that the players try and take on themselves. For me personally, he’s been brilliant. He's a great leader for our team.'
And with Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine just around the corner, the England striker hopes recent unrest and the memory of the debacle in South Africa can be put to rest.
The Three Lions will be among the bookies' favourites to lift the trophy and Rooney is backing the team to create a piece of history
And is confident his team-mates will manage without him while he sits out his two-game ban after receiving a red card in the qualifier with Montenegro last October.
He said: 'As a team, as a group of players, we go there better off. I feel we'll be a lot better than we were against Germany.
Down and out: Rooney and Co hit rock bottom at the World Cup in South Africa
'The goal is to try and win the competition - it's been a long time since England won one. For us, we want to try to create a bit of a history, that’s our main aim.
'Hopefully we can do well in the first two matches that I’ll miss. And then hopefully the manager brings me back in and I've got a chance to help us try and win games and help us do well at the tournament.
'That’s obviously my aim. I think as a team, we aim to try and do that. It will be down to the new manager who he takes to the finals.'

Fergie: Giggs and Scholes are United's 'greatest ever'
Published 22:30 26/02/12 By Neil McLeman
Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes as Manchester United’s greatest-ever players after the ageing pair scored in the win at Norwich. Fergie said: “Given the career Ryan has had, to score the winning goal with the last kick of the game, he deserved that.
“Scholes and Giggs are the best players this club has ever had.
“We knew it was an important game and it’s not easy coming here. Every time we’ve come down we’ve had to battle.
“That was the case again. We needed all our experienced players and Scholesy and Ryan in particular.
“I have to say we were lucky today. I thought we were lethargic, too casual on the ball.
“Without Ferdinand, Evans and De Gea, we would have been down.
“They were brilliant the three of them.”
Norwich boss Paul Lambert said: “That was a huge performance by us.”

Norwich City 1 Manchester United 2: Giggs and Scholes on target to keep Reds in title hunt
By Sportsmail ReporterLast updated at 4:11 PM on 26th February 2012
Ryan Giggs marked his 900th appearance for Manchester United with a stoppage-time winner as valiant Norwich were beaten 2-1 at Carrow Road.
Paul Scholes had given the visitors an early lead with a close-range header.
The Canaries rallied and forced David de Gea into a string of fine saves before the United number one was finally beaten with seven minutes left when Grant Holt fired home from 12 yards.

Sir Alex Ferguson had recalled his regulars following their midweek defeat by Ajax in the Europa League, looking to close back up on leaders Manchester City, although England striker Wayne Rooney missed out because of a virus.
The Canaries have consolidated themselves well on a first return to the top flight in the six seasons since last facing the Red Devils here, securing back-to-back promotions up from npower League One under Paul Lambert.
Only three teams have won at Carrow Road in the Premier League this season, and it was another positive start by the hosts as Simeon Jackson looked to get in between centre-backs Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans.
United, though, soon settled and retained possession well, and were in front on seven minutes.
Nani swung the ball over from the right, and it bounced through the six-yard box to the far post, where Scholes nodded it past John Ruddy.
Bradley Johnson was shown a yellow card by referee Andre Marriner for a crunching tackle on the Portuguese winger, which on another day could well have been red.
On 15 minutes, it was almost 2-0 when another flowing United counter opened up the Norwich defence before Danny Welbeck's scuffed shot was touched wide at full stretch by Ruddy.
Heads first: Paul Scholes beats Paul Ruddy early on
Norwich finally created a meaningful chance on 28 minutes, Kyle Naughton chipped a throughball into the right side of the United penalty box. Anthony Pilkington took it in his stride with a sublime first touch before knocking his shot goalwards, with De Gea making a fine reaction save at the near post.
Making it count: Scholes puts United ahead
Javier Hernandez should have done better when played clear into the Norwich penalty area, but failed to trouble Ruddy with a tame effort straight at the keeper.
At the other end, De Gea was producing a top-drawer display as he plucked a glancing header from Holt out of the air after the Norwich captain turned Pilkington's right-wing cross goalwards.

At the start of the second half, Giggs weaved his way into the Norwich box and tumbled under a challenge from Zak Whitbread, but play was waved on.
On 57 minutes, Johnson's low, 25-yard effort floated just wide.

Outnumbered: Manchester United's Danny Welbeck tries to take the ball off David Fox
Pilkington's looping cross fell to Andrew Surman at the far post, but his well-executed volley was blocked.
Welbeck and Giggs exchanged passes to send the striker clear, and his chip floated past Ruddy, but Whitbread was alert to recover and hack clear even though the ball may have been going wide.

Forever young: Ryan Giggs scored on his 900th appearance
Norwich maintained their pressure, with Bennett's cross from the right pluck out of the air by De Gea as Holt lurked in the six-yard box.
Giggs was denied a goal to cap his milestone when his close-range volley cannoned off the top of the bar from Phil Jones' cross on 72 minutes.

All together: The Manchester United players celebrate
Wes Hoolahan's cross then hit Evra on the elbow as Norwich screamed for a penalty, but referee Marriner thought otherwise.
Scholes gave the ball away to substitute Aaron Wilbraham 25 yards out, and the big striker strode forwards before unleashing a shot towards the top corner, which De Gea turned over at full stretch.
Norwich, though, were not to be denied as the resulting corner was cleared back to Adam Drury, who launched it into the area again. Whitbread knocked the ball down to Holt, who squirmed between two markers before firing in his 10th league goal of the season on 83 minutes.Scholes gave the ball away to substitute Aaron Wilbraham 25 yards out, and the big striker strode forwards before unleashing a shot towards the top corner, which De Gea turned over at full stretch.
Beating his man: Grant Holt obeats Jonny Evans to the ball
Young's goalbound effort was blocked and Welbeck somehow missed a free-header from two yards.
However, Giggs ensured a fairytale finish when he stabbed home in stoppage time to keep United on the tails of leaders City.
