EXCLUSIVE: Redknapp WILL lead England out at Euro 2012
Published 22:30 11/02/12 By Paul Smith
Harry Redknapp will lead England into the Euro 2012 Finals this summer.
The Tottenham manager feels a debt to the club that stood by him throughout his 13-day trial for tax evasion.
Redknapp was found not guilty last Wednesday just hours before Fabio Capello resigned as England boss.
He wants to see out the season and guide Spurs into the Champions League.
Once the domestic campaign is over, he will be ready to galvanise England’s Euro campaign.
FA chairman David Bernstein recognises the pressure he’s under to appoint Redknapp.
Bernstein said: “I’m not concerned about the hype. We live in the real world.
“The national mood would clearly prefer an English manager and it would be nice to reflect the national mood.
“The guy’s done amazingly recently, he’s a fine manager and he’s English.”
And Tottenham’s title hopes are very much alive and well as Redknapp’s side hammered Newcastle 5-0 at White Hart Lane.
