Rooney warns City: We'll fight to the death for title

Wayne Rooney warned rivals Manchester City they will be in a fight to the death for the Premier League title.
Rooney struck two penalties as Manchester United showed incredible determination to come back from three goals down to snatch a point at an icy Stamford Bridge.
United hero Rooney said: “Of course it’s two points lost, we understand that, but after being 3-0 down all the City players at home won’t have enjoyed watching us, the way we fought back and the spirit of the team. They know it will be a long fight and we’ll be there to the end. We fought well and fought hard and that point could win us the League.
“We have shown that over the years. A lot of teams would find it easy to put their heads down and accept defeat but we carried on, worked hard and thankfully got something out of the game.
“We knew if we got one goal there was time to get something out of the game.”
But United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was furious with referee Howard Webb and, in particular, linesman Darren Cann after claiming key decisions went against them.
He said Chelsea defender Gary Cahill should have been sent off for a foul on Danny Welbeck and believes the decision cost them a victory. “It was a sending off,” said Ferguson.
“That linesman, who has given two penalties against us at Old Trafford in the last two years – one against Arsenal, one against Liverpool – from 45 yards away, can see them and he can’t see that?
“We had two penalties in the second half which were justified, we could have had four penalties.
“But a massive effort from our players and a great game for the neutral watching the game, from 3-0 to 3-3 was fantastic.
“I thought it was two points dropped to be honest because we played so well apart from the period of 10 minutes just after half-time. We were the far better team.”
