Cork City sign Umbro kit deal
Published: November 02, 2011
The new kit deal will encompass three seasons 2012, 2013 & 2014. Under the agreement all of Cork City’s teams will wear the famous Umbro double diamond logo on their kits. An exciting element of the deal is the opportunity for Cork City FC to avail of a dedicated “store in store” alongside Umbro at the Carroll’s outlet on Patrick Street, which creates valuable exposure to the tourist, as well as the local, market.
Commenting on the deal Kevin Mullen General Manager of Cork City Football Club said: “having enjoyed some remarkable times over the past two seasons, it gives us great pleasure to welcome such a strong brand into our stable of partners. The quality and appeal of the Umbro connection to League of Ireland football is immeasurable and we will be proud to share in each other’s success from 2012 onwards where we will continue our growth of the club to a wider audience”.
Commenting on the deal Jonathan Courtenay of Umbro said: “We at Umbro Ireland are dedicated to supporting Irish football from grass roots to the International team, so securing the kit agreement with Cork City FC is a really positive step for us. Like the Umbro brand, Cork City are synonymous with success, so I look forward to working with and supplying the best kit available for all of the club’s teams.”
“Umbro Ireland are the biggest investor in Irish football, and as part of our agreement with City we will open a dedicated “CCFC store in store” on the first floor of the Carrolls Irish Gift Store on Patrick Street in the city centre. This store will feature exclusive stock and all Cork City Umbro merchandise.”
Around the World, UMBRO has a proud tradition of working with some of the greatest names in world football and currently has partnerships with many of the game’s top teams and players. Shamrock Rovers FC, St. Patrick’s Athletic and Dundalk FC all currently use Umbro kits in the League of Ireland
