Manchester United have been warned off a January move for Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
The Holland international has been in fine form for the German outfit, who were conquered by the Red Devils in last season's Champions League semi-finals, scoring 10 Bundesliga goals already this season.
United were considering offfering misfit Dimitar Berbatov in a swap deal for the former Real Madrid and AC Milan forward when the winter transfer window opens.
No go: Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is not leaving Schalke, say the German club
But Schalke general manager Horst Heldt has dismissed suggestions that the 28-year-old hotshot is set for a move to the Barclays Premier League, insisting that the club had no wish to sell Huntelaar.
He told German newspaper BILD: 'Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is under contract at Schalke and he is a first-team regular at our club.
Out of favour: Dimitar Berbatov has dropped down the United pecking order
'We have no ambition to transfer him. He is showing top standard performances this season and it is pretty much usual those performances are getting noticed by top-quality clubs.
'At this moment we have not received any offer for the services of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from any club.'
Huntelaar broke his nose during the Europa League draw against AEK Larnaca on Thursday after colliding with team mate Joel Matip in the 81st minute. He was taken off with blood streaming down his face and went straight to hospital.
