Manchester United's potential midfield targets list for this January transfer window.
Jack Rodwell of Everton. Estimated £15m and is 20 years old. Everton are keen on keeping the player but may consider large offers due to their financial problems.
Nico Gaitán of Benfica. Estimated £30m and is 23 years old. Gaitan though has stated that he is happy at Benfica and is not rushing for a move.
Luka Modrić of Tottenham Hotspur. Estimated £40m and is 26 years old. Modric is under contract till 2016 and Daniel Levy keeps restating none of his leading players will be sold.
Ganso of Santos. Estimated £25m and is 22 years old. Ganso though has a buy out clause of £45m. He will also won't be easy to get.
Wesley Sneijder of Inter Milan. Estimated £30m and is 27 years old.. Inter Milan's wage bill for the player needs to be trimmed though to follow the FFP. After a difficult start to the season Sneijder may be looking somewhere else. United's interest in the Dutchman is well known as they were targeting him throughout the summer. Due to Eto's move to Anzhi the deal broke down.
Cheick Tioté of Newcastle United. Estimated £15m and is 25 years old. Alan Pardew stated recently that he is considering selling players in January BUT clubs have to pay “a hell of a lot of money” for key starters such as Tioté. Tioté's strength and capacity to break up play has been crucial to Newcastle's fast start to the season.
Javi Martínez of Athletic Bilbao. Estimated £20m and is 23 years old. Martinez recently stated that he's proud of United's interest BUT United may need to pay up to £35m to break out the contract clause.
Yann M'Vila of Rennes. Estimated £30m and is 21 years old. Rennes are looking forward to keeping M'Vila till the summer but United are still interested in a offer. The only obstacle is that Madrid are also targeting the 21 year old.
Yohan Cabaye of Newcastle United. Estimated £15m and is 25 years old. Alan Pardew bought Cabaye from Lille for a reported fee of less than £5m. With Pardew stating his side are in no rush to sell suggests United need to pay three times the fee he was bought for.
Daniele De Rossi of AS Roma. Estimated £30m and is 28 years old. With a year and a half of his contract remaining and negotiations not going well De Rossi may be looking to leave his most loved club.
Mario Götze of Borussia Dortmund. Estimated £40m and is 19 years old. Götze is extremely unlikely to change clubs before the summer, as he is happy at Dortmund and fears any move could disrupt his preparations for Euro 2012.
Sandro of Tottenham Hotspur. Estimated £10m and is 22 years old. Sandro is lacking first team opportunities and may leave Spurs this January if he gets a good offer.
Bastian Schweinsteiger of Bayern Munich. Estimated £30m and is 27 years old. Munich won't be an easy team to negotiate with but may be tempted by a big offer.
Claudio Marchisio of Juventus. Estimated £20m and is 25 years old. Juventus is not willing to sell a key player of Conte's XI and the fans. Manchester United though are keen on the 25 year old.
Javi García of Benfica. Estimated £10m and is 24 years old. The possibility of further progress in the Champions League has made Benfica reluctant to part with key players, though some reports suggest García may have a release clause of close to £25m.
Christian Eriksen of Ajax. Estimated £15m and is 19 years old. Ajax's exit from the Champions League may make Ajax more open to a move. United will have stiff competition with City also targeting the midfielder.
