The news will come as a massive boost for boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who had feared losing one of the club's best young players this summer.

Having missed United's Europa League defeats to Ajax and Athletic Bilbao it was thought Pogba's spell at Old Trafford was heading for an early finish.
But the 18-year-old was back in the squad during Sunday's 2-0 Barclays Premier League win over West Brom, in which he came on as a 72nd minute substitute.

Ferguson made a case for the midfielder to stay after the game but admitted the youngster was unsure, saying: ‘The boy is still trying to make his mind up but he knows where he should be.’
Pogba joined United from Le Havre in 2009 and it is believed United are now hopeful of seeing the highly-rated French youngster put pen to paper on a new long-term deal.

Dave, ScholesLegend, John - No, it doesn't mean they are lying. It means the things have changed. Their is a reason he wasn't even in the squad against Bilbao, and then suddenly he is coming on to replace Paul Scholes 3 days later. I was told by 3 followers of the United youth teams that he seemed to be on his way out. Are they lying too?

This is a perfect illustration of the financial strain this club is under. Are things so bad that youth team players apparently commiting their future to the so called "biggest" club in the world is reported and celebrated as if Messi has signed? This is not even newsworthy, we are not talking about an established player at his peak commiting their future to this club. Let's put things into perspective guys.

Loving the United haters. Keep it coming girls, it just proves we ARE the best and there's nothing you can do about it... Oh and Sammer, when you eventually swap crayons for pencils or pens, learn about grammar and how to spell, the rest of us may take you seriously (but probably not) LOSER....

£450m debt who cares when they are 1st in the table with some of England's best talents in their squad - Michael McCormick, London, England, 12/3/2012 15:42 Apparently your fans with their "Green and Gold" protest cared about the debt. Until you won another trophy. Then they wound their fickle little nekcs back in and chewed on another prawn sandwich. But kept the scarf. - Rick, Round the Bend, 12/3/2012 16:54---1.I'm not a United fan 2.They've won trophies virtually every season since Glazier took over barring 1 season(?) so don't think you've thought that one out properly
