Young waiting on City slip-up
by Setanta Staff , 06 March 2012 Ashley Young claims Manchester United are waiting to take advantage of any slip-ups from title rivals Manchester City this season.
The 26-year-old, who has recently returned from a six-week injury lay-off, was on target twice in Sunday's 3-1 win against third-placed Tottenham at White Hart Lane, as United cut back City's lead at the top of the Premier League to two points once again.
And, with 11 games now remaining, Young, who joined the Red Devils from Aston Villa last summer, has echoed team-mates Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes' claims that they will probably have to win all of them if they are going to retain the title and win the championship for the 20th time in United's illustrious history.
But Young is confident that they can do just that as they have warned Roberto Mancini's squad they are just biding their time to pounce on any mistakes they make during the tense run-un.
He told The Sun: "Any time they slip up and we can take advantage, then we will. We'll keep pegging them back.
"As Paul Scholes said the other day, we think we'll have to win every game.
"So as long as we keep doing that, we'll be OK. We'll just concentrate on ourselves, take each game as it comes. We've just had two tough away games at Tottenham and Norwich.
"Every game between now and the end will be tough."
