Manchester United's Ryan Giggs comes to Wales for the first time ever in the Premier League this weekend.
The former Welsh international skipper is expected to be in Sir Alex Ferguson's star-studded squad for the clash against the Swans at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
He said: "It's fantastic news for Welsh football that Swansea City are doing so well and, as a Welshman, I'm very much looking forward to Manchester United visiting Wales for the first ever time in the Premier League.
"Swansea is a great city and the Swans have tremendous support in a terrific stadium. All Premier League games are tough and I'm sure the match against the Swans will be no different."
Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs on the planet and the arrival of players like Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney and Nani in Swansea means the eyes of the football world will be on the city this weekend.
Swansea Council has been working alongside its partners to make sure the Swansea area benefits from prestigious Premier League status.
Cllr Graham Thomas, Swansea Council's Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, said: "Working in partnership with the Welsh Government means the Visit Swansea Bay and Visit Wales branding dominates the Croeso stand and is also featured on the pitch-side LED advertising and in the away supporters concourse area during all home games at the Liberty Stadium.
"This leads to worldwide exposure when games are shown on hugely popular programmes like Match of the Day.
"But the Manchester United game on the weekend will take the global audience to a new dimension because they're one of the world's most followed clubs and the game is live on ESPN.
"We've set up a dedicated fans corner on the official Swansea Bay destination website to encourage football fans to spend time here and some of our innovative marketing campaigns are clearly working.
