Manchester United chief executive David Gill has revealed that even he is not immune from his manager's infamous 'hairdryer' treatment.
But Gill, who will be charged with the task of one day finding a successor to Sir Alex Ferguson, admits the Old Trafford boss's unique qualities make the prospect an impossibly daunting one.
Speaking this week, as the club celebrated their manager's 25th anniversary in charge, the United executive confessed he has been on the wrong end of some explosive encounters with his manager.
"I wouldn't say I'm exempt from the hairdryer but I would say I can give as good as I get," Gill admitted.
"The important thing is he never sulks, he never carries it on and we move on. That's a great thing about Alex, he can have an opinion and blow his top but it's forgotten like that and I think that's the true measure of the man.

Gill explained that even though Ferguson has a black and white approach to his job, the man, as opposed to the manager, has a far more complex character than the public gets to see.
The chief exec described the Old Trafford legend as being far more rounded than many realise - "He has many, many attributes much wider than the driven man you see on TV week in and week out" - but admits he can also be determined and driven, which makes him so hard to replace.
"He's very supportive, very loyal and, at the same time, he's very black
