Paris Saint Germain are planning a firm bid for Napoli star Marek Hamsik to join the club in January, according to Talksport, with the 24-year-old still being targeted by Manchester United.
The Slovakia international has starred for Napoli since signing for the side in 2007, and while he has continually been linked to a move away from the club, over the summer transfer speculation grew even louder.

Manchester United had reportedly wanted to take Hamsik as a possible replacement for Paul Scholes, but Sir Alex Ferguson decided against making a bid for the star before the transfer window closed.
And after signing the likes of Javier Pastore and Kevin Gamero, Paris Saint Germain are building a team capable of challenging for honours in the Champions League. The club are said to believe that Hamsik can help them do that.
But United can’t be counted out of the equation just yet, with Ferguson still keeping an eye on Hamsik’s progress at Napoli. And if United find they are still in need of a Scholes replacement in January, they may make a formal move for the midfielder.
