Wayne Rooney apologised to his England team-mates tonight after he was sent off in tonight's 2-2 draw with Montenegro.
Rooney's dismissal - the second of his international career - took the gloss off a result that was enough to confirm England's presence at Euro 2012.

And it was needless too. Kicking out at Miodrag Dzudovic, right in front of Capello, Rooney gave German referee Wolfgang Stark little option to brandish the red card.

It means the 25-year-old joins David Beckham as the only men to have been sent off twice for England, and more important rules him out of the first match in the finals next summer, and possibly more depending on how UEFA choose to deal with the matter.
"He made a silly mistake and said: 'Yes, sorry'," said Capello.
"It's a red card. You can't defend that.
"He's a really important player with a lot of experience, and he's played really important games.
"But he has made a silly mistake. I have seen players like him do that. You can't understand why."
Coming just a day after his father was arrested as part of a police investigation into an illegal betting scam in Scotland, it raised the question as to whether he should have been picked.
