Bruno Soriano: Linked with a move to Manchester United but remains a key player for Villarreal
Juan Carlos Garrido has described Bruno Soriano as the best player in his position in the Primera Liga and Villarreal have no intention of letting the midfielder go after he was linked with a move to Manchester United.
Reports have suggested that United are keeping a close eye on the 27-year-old Spain international with a view to possibly bringing him in when the transfer window reopens in January. However, Soriano, who can also play at left-back as well as in the centre of the field, is under contract at El Madrigal until June 2016 and is valued at around €25million euros (£22m).
Garrido rates the player so highly that he admits it would be difficult to bring in a replacement of the same quality.
"I am convinced that Bruno is today the best man in La Liga for his position in the pitch," said Garrido.
Skysports.com understands that Villarreal have not received an offer at this stage for Soriano from Manchester United or any other club.
"The sale of Bruno Soriano would be impossible," a source from the club told skysports.com. "His exit would be a big problem.
"We have not formally received an offer from Manchester United or other clubs.
"We play this season in the Champions League and the presence of scouts at the ground is normal."
